Colt 45, Works Every Time

Someone at the headquarters of, National Brewing Company, decided to drop truckloads of complimentary Colt 45 on downtown artist’s events.
For the past two months I’ve been surprised at events with free tall cans of this brew. If it’s not free, they let it go for $2 a pop. Crazy right? Who would have thought that in, 2009, I would walk into a jumpin’ spot to find Billy Dee Williams’ image on a napkin under a cold can of malt liquor.
I’m not complaining. Those guys at headquarters are smart sons-a-bitches! It made me a fan. I would have never walked into a liquor store and put one of these on the counter. I had my share of malt liquor when I was a young drunk and I never thought I would drink that crap again. But it tastes so good when it’s free. After a few free ones I don’t mind paying two bucks a pop to stay on the same train.
I wonder if they changed the recipe, because it doesn’t taste so bad. If you’re a light beer drinker, I wouldn’t recommend it. But anyone used to drinking some potent potables can handle this brew mighty well.
As you pick one up and pop the tab, please repeat the old slogan, “Colt 45, Works Every Time,” and enjoy.
